With the glory of the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises, it seems that both 2nd Marvel Comics superhero has a picture show in readying stages. However, Marvel's otherwise superhero teams have a understated hurdle: they proportion their traducement beside different desirable Hollywood subject: fondly-remembered TV shows. Let's archer them unconnected...

THE AVENGERS
On television: Quirky set from the sixties, in which the very British John Steed (Patrick Macnee) and an assortment of offsiders, together with Cathy Gale (Honore Blackman) and Emma Peel (Diana Rigg), battled a mixture of sci-fi goofballs. Best villains: the Cybernauts, a tuft of bloody robots.
In the comics: Superhero group, published since the sixties, best oftentimes led by the snootily American Captain America. Every Marvel superhero collect the X-Men seems to have been an Avenger at a number of instance. Best villain: Ultron, a homicidal golem.
Prospects: The clown story was spun off into a favourite enlivened TV series, but since the terrible 1998 picture (based on the TV prove), the describe "Avengers" is likely box-office poisonous substance.

THE DEFENDERS
On television: Riveting 1960s room drama, featuring a father-son safety unit.
In the comics: Riveting 1970s and 1980s superhero comic, featuring a garland of guys who would droop out together, aggression essentially spiritual bad guys.
Prospects: Some of the comic-book Defenders (including the Hulk and, future soon, the Sub-Mariner and the Silver Surfer) are before moving-picture show heroes. If they are successful, a team-up is the formal next manoeuvre.

THE INVADERS
On television: Maximum paranoia, '60s panache. David Vincent (Roy Thinnes) had to run away from aliens who considered necessary to give somebody a lift done the world, disguised as humans, piece difficult to alert a incredulous Earth population.
In the comics: Marvel's paramount heroes of World War II - videlicet Captain America, the Sub-Mariner and the inspired Human Torch. While they were all desirable final in the 1940s, they simply worked equally in a melancholy series, premier published in the decennium.
Prospects: How something like a crossover? Aliens assail Earth and engagement superheroes during World War II? Hey, it could work!

THE CHAMPIONS
On television: Silly (but fun) British superhero string of the sixties.
In the comics: Los Angeles-based superhero train of the decade. One of the basic teams to be led by a woman (the Black Widow, a defected Russian spy), on next to Ghost Rider, Iceman and others.
Prospects: Neither of them lasted extended. If a proud TV ordering (like The Avengers) or wit newspaper (like Captain America) can implements of war at the movies, who'd privation to motion picture one of these also-rans?

ALIAS
On television: The adventures of Sydney Bristow, high-school apprentice cum superspy. First shown in 2001; cancelled 2006.
